DANB’s Board has spearheaded several important initiatives to support the profession and is in the third year of its latest strategic plan.
“We made critical advancements in our strategic plan, which focuses on the importance of dental assistants and their invaluable role in the dental office,” says DANB Immediate Past Chair Kimberly Plate. “DANB and the DALE Foundation supported dental assistants by awarding funds to more than 80 scholarship recipients, launching the Infection Control exam in Spanish, and continuing work of the Dental Assisting Professional Model Workgroup.”
“Throughout my career in dentistry, I have worked as a dental assistant, a dental hygienist, and a dentist,” says DANB Chair Barbara Mousel. “I am honored to represent dental assistants in my role as chair, where I bring a unique perspective to how these professionals can elevate and enhance the dental team. I look forward to continuing to work with fellow board members to advance our bold strategic plan and make an impact on the profession.”
