The Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) and the DALE Foundation have launched the new DANB/DALE Foundation Scholarship, which supports aspiring and early-career dental assistants in achieving their career goals.

This new scholarship reflects the commitment of DANB and the DALE Foundation to advance the dental assistant workforce and to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion within the dental assisting profession and the communities they serve.

The DANB/DALE Foundation Scholarship is open to dental assisting students and current dental assistants with less than five years of experience, providing funds for education, credentials, and activities or services that improve oral health in groups that historically faced barriers to accessing dental care.

“The DANB/DALE Foundation Scholarship represents a crucial step toward providing support to those entering the dental assisting field and building the next generation of dental assistants,” said Laura Skarnulis, CEO of DANB and the DALE Foundation. “By providing financial support to deserving applicants, we can uplift the profession and empower individuals committed to enhancing oral healthcare access for all.”

The scholarship application period is now open, and interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications by March 4, 2024. The recipients of the DANB/DALE Foundation Scholarship will be announced in June 2024.
