The Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) is excited to announce the official launch of the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam in Spanish. Dental professionals interested in taking the RHS exam in Spanish can find additional information and application details on the DANB website. Additionally, the DALE Foundation, the official DANB affiliate, now offers the DANB RHS Practice Test in Spanish to help candidates prepare.

The English- and Spanish-language versions of the RHS exams are equivalent. The Spanish-language version of the RHS exam presents the questions in Spanish and provides candidates with the option to also view the questions in English. Both versions of the exam have no eligibility requirements, follow the same exam outline, use the same question bank, and have the same pass point.

Candidates who have already applied for the RHS exam in English but have not yet taken the exam are eligible to switch their exam language from English to Spanish by submitting the Exam Language Switch Request Form.

DANB also now offers candidates the option to speak with a Spanish-speaking customer service representative when they call DANB.

DANB worked closely with exam translation consultants and subject matter experts, including leaders from the Hispanic Dental Association (HDA), to ensure the accuracy of translation while continuing to protect exam integrity.

DANB recognizes the importance of providing comprehensive exam and certification options to meet the diverse needs of dental professionals. The availability of the RHS exam in Spanish aligns with our commitment to support the profession and provide pathways to increase the number of qualified dental assistants.
