What Is the DANB CDE Audit?

DANB conducts monthly audits of certificant CDE credits. Though most audits are done on a random basis, some may be conducted at DANB’s discretion. With the DANB CDE Audit, DANB verifies that certificants have earned the required CDE credits and CPR certifications as outlined in the Recertification Requirements.

What to Expect if You’re Audited

If you are selected for an audit, there’s no need to panic. As long as you have kept careful records of your CDE credits, the audit should be a simple and painless process. Your DANB certification will be valid during the audit. DANB will request that you provide documentation of participation or attendance of all CDE activities used for your certification renewal. You will also be asked for documentation of a current, DANB-accepted CPR card.

Keep Records of Your CDE Credits

For your convenience, DANB has created the CDE Recording Form to track your CDE. Download this form, fill it out and keep it in your records for two years. If you are selected for an audit, send this form along with CDE documentation to DANB as instructed. Do not submit the CDE Recording Form to DANB unless you are selected for a DANB CDE Audit.
