DANB certification is valid for one year. Renewing your certification annually protects your DANB credential and shows your commitment to the dental assisting profession.

Continuing Dental Education

There are several ways to obtain CDE credits required for recertification. Find out how to maintain your valuable credentials in a convenient, affordable way. The DALE Foundation, the official DANB affiliate, also offers e-learning courses that earn 2 to 12 CDE credits, depending on the course, upon successful completion.

Update on DANB Certification Renewal

Due to COVID-19, DANB has implemented several new, temporary renewal policies. Please read below for details.

  • CPR Certificate
    Until further notice (dependent on the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions), DANB will temporarily accept CPR certificates that were earned online without a hands-on component.

  • Renewal Forms
    We encourage you to renew online by logging in to your DANB account. Log in to my DANB account. If you would like to mail or fax your renewal, you may download the form below.

  • Infection Control and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Requirements
    The requirement to earn at least 2 CDE credits in infection control and 1 CDE credit in OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens standard is still in effect.
