Winners selected for the 2016 ADAA/DANB Scholarship
The American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA) and DANB have selected five recipients for the 2016 ADAA/DANB Scholarship. The winners shared how they will use their scholarships to pursue their professional development plans. Open to all ADAA members in good standing, the scholarships are awarded annually to dental assistants who demonstrate a strong commitment to career growth and lifelong learning in the dental assisting profession.

Cindy Durley wins AADA Diamond Award
The American Association of Dental Administrators (AADA) honored DANB and DALE Foundation Executive Director Cindy Durley, M.Ed., MBA, with its Diamond Award on Oct. 17, 2016, at its 32nd Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado.  The Diamond Award is presented to “an AADA member whose leadership shines with passion and whose contributions to the AADA and/or the oral healthcare community are innovative and move the AADA forward,” according to the AADA. Durley has held several leadership positions with the AADA, including serving as President from 2014-2015.

Mary Neall, CDA, marks 40 years in dental assisting
Mary Neall, CDA, still revels in the joys and challenges of dental assisting even after 40 years in the profession — including 35 years maintaining the DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification. She explained why her commitment to continuing education and compassion for the patients have been key to her long, successful career.
