Linda Golodner, B.A.

Linda Golodner, B.A., of Washington, D.C., was elected as the public member to DANB’s Board of Directors in August 2011; she is serving the second of a possible two three-year terms.

Ms. Golodner is currently the Principal of Consumer Initiatives, advising nonprofit, government, and for-profit groups on consumer healthcare, corporate social responsibility and product safety. She served as President and CEO of the National Consumers League (NCL) from 1985 to 2007, and is now President Emeritus. While at NCL, Ms. Golodner was appointed by President Bill Clinton to the White House Apparel Industry Partnership, which she co-chaired. She now serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, Audit Committee and Code Review Working Group of its successor organization, the Fair Labor Association. She also co-founded the Child Labor Coalition and served on the Board of the International Cocoa Initiative.

Ms. Golodner was a member of the Board of Directors of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for 10 years and now represents ANSI on the International Standards Organization Consumer Policy Committee. She is Vice Chair of the Water Quality and Health Council and a public member of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. Golodner also served on the Board of Directors of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Ms. Golodner received the American Pharmacists Association’s Hugo H. Schaefer Award, the Food and Drug Administration’s Commissioner's Special Citation, ANSI’s Meritorious Service Award and the NCL’s Trumpeter Award.
