DANB Orthodontic Assisting Exam OA

To become a DANB® Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA®), you are required to take two component exams: Orthodontic Assisting (OA) and Infection Control (ICE®). You may take the OA separately or during the COA test administration. If you take the OA exam separately, you must also pass the ICE exam within a five-year period to earn DANB COA certification.

DANB Step 1

Step One: Check Your Eligibility

To apply for the OA exam, you need to meet certain eligibility requirements. There are four possible pathways to meet these eligibility requirements. These pathways are explained in full detail on the exam eligibility requirements page.
