Dental Assistants Recognition Week TikTok Dance Challenge

DANB DARW TikTok Dance Contest (the “Contest”) is a contest of skill, not a sweepstakes. Winners will be chosen based on their entry video, not by chance. The holder of the public TikTok account will be the only person eligible to win the prize, even if there are multiple people in the video. To enter, you must use the “Dental Assistants, You Are A Star” song from DANB’s TikTok video, the hashtags #darwdance2023 and #Contest, and tag @DANBCertified. Entries will be accepted starting March 1 through the end of Dental Assistants Recognition Week (DARW), March 11, 2023. For additional contest details, see the Official Rules below.

Official Rules for DANB DARW TikTok Dance Contest

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. 

These are the Official Rules for the Contest. The Contest begins on March 1, 2023, at 6 a.m. Central Time and ends on March 11, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. The contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered or associated with TikTok.

The computer clock of Sponsor is the official time-keeping device in the Contest. This promotion uses TikTok as a means of entry. This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered, associated with or certified by TikTok or TikTok, Inc. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to Sponsor and not TikTok. All TikTok logos and trademarks displayed on this Contest are property of TikTok, Inc.

Eligibility

The Contest is open to residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of Contest entry. To participate, you must have a device connected to the Internet and a free TikTok account. Employees, officers, directors and trustees of the Dental Assisting National Board and the DALE Foundation, their respective advertising and marketing agencies, partners, ambassadors, affiliates, their immediate families (spouse; parent, child, or sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same households as such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate.

By participating, you agree to these Official Rules and to the decisions of the judges and Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects. Void where prohibited by law, rule or regulation. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

How to Enter

To enter, you must create an original TikTok video using the “Dental Assistants, You Are A Star” song from DANB’s TikTok contest announcement video posted on the @DANBCertified TikTok account. Only entries from TikTok will be considered.

• The video must use the hashtags #darwdance2023 and #Contest, and tag @DANBCertified. Collectively, the video, associated hashtags, and @ tag is the “Entry.”
• You may use the dance illustrated in DANB’s video or create your own dance.
• Your TikTok account and the Entry video must be public.
• The holder of the public TikTok account will be the only person eligible to win the prize, even if there are multiple people in the video.
• You can create multiple video submissions but only one prize will be awarded per person.

By submitting an Entry, you represent and warrant that the work submitted is original to you and that neither it nor its contents infringes upon or violates the rights of any third party. You also confirm that anyone else who appears in the video with you has granted their permission to be a part of your video and submission to the Contest.

You must comply with the Terms of Service of TikTok. By submitting an Entry following these requirements, you automatically confirm you agree to all official rules.

Non-Qualifying Entries

Entries may not contain, as determined by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, any content that:

• Violates the Terms of Service of TikTok
• Communicates messages or images inconsistent with the positive image and good will to which Sponsor wishes to associate
• Violates any law

The Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, incomplete, corrupted, stolen, garbled, damaged, delayed, undelivered or misdirected entries, all of which are void.

Video Entry Timeframe

Entries will be accepted starting at 6 a.m. Central Time on March 1, 2023. The deadline to enter is March 11, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. 

Prizes

There are 3 prizes available. Each prize is a $500 credit card e-gift card. The account holders of the 3 TikTok videos with the most likes will each receive a $500 e-gift card. Only one prize will be awarded per person. The total approximate retail value of all prizes is $1,500.

No prize substitution, cash equivalent of prizes, transfer or assignment of prizes is permitted, except by Sponsor which reserves the right to substitute a prize with one of comparable or greater value, at its sole discretion.

Winner Determination

The Sponsor will select 3 winners based on the TikTok videos with the most likes. The Sponsor’s decision with respect to the selection of the winners will be final. The judging period begins on March 12, 2023, and ends on March 30, 2023. Potential winners will be notified through TikTok by March 31, 2023.

Winner Notification and Prize Acceptance

Potential winners will receive a comment on their video and a direct message on TikTok by March 31, 2023. To receive a direct message, the potential prize winner must follow DANB on TikTok or set their direct message settings to accept direct messages from everyone. By April 3, 2023, the potential winners must respond with their contact information, including but not limited to full name, email address, state, birth date, and phone number.

The potential winner only becomes an official winner after this information is received. If the potential winner does not respond within the given timeframe or fails to comply with the Official Rules, the potential winner will forfeit the prize and an alternate winner will be selected from among the remaining eligible entries using the judging criteria listed above. All federal, state, local, and other taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the applicable winner.

To receive the list of winners, by June 30, 2023, send an email to communications@danb.org with TikTok Winners as the subject line. The winners list will be sent after all prizes have been awarded.

Ownership of Entries

By submitting an Entry, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and grant the Sponsor and its affiliates a non-exclusive, fully paid-up and royalty-free, worldwide license to use, modify, delete from, add to, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce and translate your Entry, including, without limitation, the right to distribute all or part of the Entry in any media formats through any media channels. 

By submitting an Entry, you consent to the Sponsor and its affiliates the right to print, publish, broadcast, and use worldwide in any media now known or later developed, your name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, city and state of residence, and biographical information for any purpose, including but not limited to, in advertisements, publicity, and other communications, worldwide, in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification or permission, except where prohibited by law. For uses beyond the consent that you grant above, you agree that Sponsor’s use of personal data will be governed by the Privacy Policy posted on the Sponsor website.

Indemnity

By participating in the Contest, you release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, its affiliates, employees, officers, directors, trustees, agents and their respective advertising and marketing agencies or partners from any and all damages whether direct or indirect, which may be due to or arise out of participation in the Contest or the acceptance, use, misuse or possession of any prize. 

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrants, winners, or Sponsor in connection with this Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws in the state of Illinois. Any legal action related to this Contest or these Official Rules shall be brought only in the courts of the State of Illinois.

Disclaimer

The Sponsor and its affiliates are not responsible for printing or typographical errors in these Official Rules or in any Contest-related materials. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual that tampers with the entry process. Sponsor also reserves the right to terminate, suspend, cancel or modify the Contest if this Contest is not capable of running as planned due to any reason, including but not limited to technical failures, fraud, unauthorized intervention, or a force majeure event.
