Applications are now being accepted for the 2015 ADAA/DANB Scholarship. The American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA) and the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) launched the scholarship program in 2013, as a way to help dental assistants realize their professional development plans.

The ADAA/DANB Scholarship is open to all ADAA members in good standing. To be considered, applicants should download and complete the application and submit a letter of intent, along with any required documentation.

The scholarship will be awarded to dental assistants who demonstrate a strong commitment to career growth and lifelong learning. The winners will be able to use the scholarship funds for professional activities, such as continuing dental education, DANB exams or certification, expenses associated with ADAA Fellowship or Mastership, or registration for a dental conference, among other possible activities.

“This scholarship helps dental assistants take their careers to the next level,” says ADAA President Kimberly Bland, CDA, EFDA, M.Ed. “The ADAA is proud of our continued partnership with DANB to help make that happen.”

“DANB believes in lifelong learning and promoting the dental assisting profession. We are excited to continue working with ADAA to offer this scholarship and help dental assistants achieve their goals,” says DANB Board Chair Frank Maggio, D.D.S.

Applications will be accepted through 11:59 p.m. Central Time on Oct. 11, 2015, and the winners will be announced at the 2015 ADAA/DANB Forum, which will be held during the American Dental Association Meeting in November.
