This course is intended for chairside assistants or dental assisting students with varying degrees of dental radiography knowledge. Learners should have some background in dental radiography and possess at least a basic understanding of professional vocabulary related to dental radiography and general dental assisting duties. It is an online interactive course with an audio component. The course is self-paced and does not need to be completed in one sitting. Learners can go back and revisit course topics after completion. Learners may retake the post-course assessment. This review course covers conventional dental radiography, using film rather than digital images. This course is intended for chairside assistants or dental assisting students with varying degrees of dental radiography knowledge. Although this course addresses most topics covered on DANB's Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam, it does not address digital radiography. In late 2010, DANB will have available an additional e-learning course, the DANB Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam Review Course, which will expand on the topics in the DANB Conventional Dental Radiography Review Course and will include digital radiography concepts. Although the DANB Conventional Dental Radiography Review Course and the upcoming DANB RHS Exam Review Course include learner assessments before, throughout, and at the end of each course, these assessments are NOT DANB's RHS exam, nor can they be used in any state in lieu of DANB's RHS exam.
