Brenda Fell, CDA, CDPMA, became a Certified Dental Assistant in 1979 and obtained
her Certified Dental Practice Management Administrator credential in 1999. She was elected
to the Dental Assisting National Board’s (DANB’s) Board of Directors in 2003.
She is serving her second of a possible two three-year terms as a representative of the
American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA).
Ms. Fell earned her Associate of Science in Dental Assisting in 1978 and her Utah
Vocational Teaching Certificate in 1998, both from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. In 2002,
she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Education from Americus University in Washington, DC.
She feels that DANB Certification is a verification of competency for both employers and patients,
and that it promotes high professional and personal standards.
Since 1993, Ms. Fell has held the position of Dental Occupations Program Coordinator/Instructor for
Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College in Ogden, Utah, where she promotes DANB Certification to
her students and proudly displays her certificates in the classroom for all to see. She has served
as President and President-Elect of the Utah Dental Assistants Association, as well as Vice President
and Secretary Treasurer. Ms. Fell has served on the Ogden Dental Assistants Society in the capacity of President,
President-Elect, Vice President, and Secretary Treasurer.
Ms. Fell has served as a Director of the ADAA Foundation, a position she accepted in 2001.
She initially joined the ADAA in 1983 and has had appointments on the Annual Conference Local Arrangement
Committee, SLC (1999); Council on Annual Conference (1996-1999); Awards Sub-Committee (1998); Elections Sub-Committee (1997); Education Committee (1995-1996); and Resolutions Committee (1993). She also served as Eleventh District Trustee from 1988-1994. |
